Marcus James Henderson grew up in Brevard, NC. His first gig was at 15 in Greenville, SC, playing at Vince Perone’s Forum with the Frankie Lester Big Band. From there he played with everyone from Steve Alan to Ringling Brothers, although his favorite assignments have always been original acts. The most frequent band he’s been in (11 years now) is King Johnson from Atlanta GA. He started with MTB playing sessions at Muscadine Studio for Paul Hornsby, when he got the call to play on Chris Hicks’ “Dog Eat Dog World,” and the rest is history! With MTB, he covers flute, sax, keys, and some vocals. He currently lives in Macon, GA with his wife and son.

what a great show and what a very talented guy you are.
It was great to meet you at Gruene Hall. You have a solid voice and are a perfect addition to a multi-talented band. We never get tired of the songs. See you next time you're in Texas.
You ROCK! Caught the show last night at the Del Mar Fair.
Please say you are playing again here soon in So Cal!
Have a great summer
Jerry
Terrific performance at Wildwood Springs !! You stole the show, which is really hard with this band !! Amazing.
Marcus,
I want to Thank You for a fantastic show Saturday night in Watseka. After seeing 16 prior MTB shows starting in 1975 in Lincoln Nebraska, while attending Creighton University in Omaha, this was a special show.
I've been waiting for an all ages show somewhere near Chicago to take my son Tim (12 Yrs) We drove down from Downers Grove, IL. and you did not dissappoint!! Starting with a Great Show, to humble autograph signing, and conversation by the bus. You are an awesome Flutist & Sax Player, and your solos were reninicent of Jerry Eubanks for sure. When I heard you sing "Take the Highway", I knew you had MTB in you. Tim, and I, will never forget it!!
God Bless You Always!!!

Marcus-
Awesome show in Watseka! I have never seen anyone play the flute like you do, not only that buy you have great pipes as well. Simply Amazing!! Thanks for putting on a great show!
I wanted to let Marcus know that your musicianship was truly amazing last night at the Uptown theater concert in Napa. though I had to brave 2 agonizing hours of bay area rush hour traffic to get from SJ to napa, once I settled into my seat and your mates started to play it was all worth it. Especially you Marcus, what an unbelievably talented (probably from years of hard work as well.....) person you are. I thought, though all the guys were good, you and Chris Hicks really made the night especially memorable. I will try to come and see the band again later this year when you guys play at that Casino in Carson, ca.
peace be with you and your family,
Steven Affonso
All I can say is AMAZING show tonight in Ocean City NJ tonight! So much talent in one band. Very impressive!
